Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology officially released the “Jiangsu Suzhou, Wuxi, Nantong high-end textile National Advanced Manufacturing Cluster Cultivation and upgrading three-year action Plan (2023-2025)” (hereinafter referred to as the “action Plan”). The introduction of the program marks the full implementation of the spirit of the national and provincial new industrialization promotion Conference and the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Textile Industry Quality Upgrading Implementation Plan (2023-2025)”, and accelerate the promotion of the high-end textile national advanced manufacturing cluster to a world-class cluster.

It is reported that the “action plan” clearly states that by 2025, the scale of Suxitong high-end textile cluster industry will grow steadily, and the industrial output value will reach about 720 billion yuan. In order to achieve this goal, the Action Plan proposed 19 specific measures from four aspects of promoting high-end, intelligent, green and integrated development of the industry.

In terms of promoting the high-end of the industry, the Action Plan proposes to increase investment in research and development, guide enterprises to improve their independent innovation capabilities, and promote the extension of the industrial chain to the high-end. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen brand building, enhance the added value of products, and cultivate well-known brands with international competitiveness. In addition, it is necessary to optimize the industrial structure, accelerate the development of high value-added and high-tech products and services, and improve the overall competitiveness of industrial clusters.

In terms of promoting industrial intelligence, the Action Plan emphasizes the need to strengthen the application of intelligent manufacturing technology and promote the application of new generation information technologies such as industrial Internet, big data and artificial intelligence in the textile industry. At the same time, it is necessary to promote enterprises to implement intelligent transformation, improve production efficiency and product quality, and reduce production costs. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the research and development and industrialization of intelligent textile equipment, and improve the intelligent level of industrial clusters.

In terms of promoting the greening of industries, the Action Plan calls for strengthening the construction of green manufacturing systems and promoting cleaner production technologies and circular economy models. At the same time, we should strengthen energy conservation and emission reduction, reduce energy consumption and emission intensity, and achieve green and low-carbon development. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the research and development and promotion of green textiles to improve the environmental performance and market competitiveness of products.

In terms of promoting industrial integration, the Action Plan proposes to strengthen collaborative innovation in the industrial chain and promote cooperation and exchanges between enterprises in industrial clusters. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen regional coordinated development, optimize industrial distribution, and form industrial clusters with complete industrial chains and complete supporting facilities. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation and exchanges, and enhance the status and influence of industrial clusters in the global industrial chain.

The Action Plan points out the direction for the development of the national advanced manufacturing cluster of high-end textile in Suzhou, Wuxi and Nantong, Jiangsu province. Through the implementation of a series of specific measures, it is expected to promote the industrial cluster to the world-class level, and make greater contributions to the development of China’s textile industry.
